About us
Authentic Thai Flavor, Served with Warmth
LumNer started with a craving. It wasn’t just a hunger for food; it was a hunger for a memory.
We missed the smoke rising from the charcoal grills in the evening. We missed the snap of a perfectly bouncy meatball on a bamboo skewer. We missed the complex, explosive aroma of a curry paste that was pounded by hand, not manufactured in a factory.
We looked around and realized that while Thai food is everywhere, the soul of the street stall was hard to find. The meatballs were too floury. The sausages lacked that herbal punch. The curry pastes were mostly salt.
So, we decided to make it ourselves.
The Meaning of "LumNer" (ลำเน้อ)
In the Northern Thai dialect (Kam Mueang), we don't just say food is good; we express it with feeling.
- "Lum" (ลำ) means Delicious.
- "Ner" (เน้อ) is a particle of warmth and emphasis. It is the soft, inviting word a grandmother uses when she places a plate in front of you.
When we say "LumNer," we aren't just telling you the food is tasty. We are saying, "It's delicious, I promise!" It captures the spirit of Northern Thai hospitality—authentic flavors served with genuine care.
